Phodnichi Poli

A lot of effort goes into making a Chapati. My mom always used to get angry when chapati's are leftover or wasted. She was shocked to see the food wastage which goes on here in US. I explained it by saying that everything is available in huge quantities here and there are so few people in a household to utilize it. But in Indian cuisine there is a solution to this problem..and that is making new recipes out of them! 

This recipe is so loved in my house that it is preferred over fresh chapati sometimes! You can make it with fresh chapati or leftover chapati's and it will ease great!



  • Chapati--4
  • Onions-2 medim sized
  • Green chillies--3-4 chopped
  • Peanuts 
  • Turmeric powder


Take 4 chapati's  and make pieces and blend them in a mixer. Now take oil in a pan and add chopped onions,peanuts,chopped chillies and sauté for some time before adding the chapati mixture to it. Add salt and a pinch of sugar.You can add some chat masala or amchur powder to it and roast the mixture till it is lightly brown in color. Serve hot.
